5 EASY HACKS to saving money for your downpayment without ACTIVELY putting the money into savings!

It’s so tough to save money for a downpayment so every bit counts!!

1) Stop eating out ! You should pack a lunch or reduce ‘going out for drinks’ & getting ‘Uber Eats’; it’s healthier anyway! Think two birds one stone LOL! Personally, I know I spend about 100$ a week if not more on Take Out like Uber Eats and getting drinks etc. (TBH probably more) so instantly (if you’re like me) you will have at least 5200$ by the end of the year !! You’ll be healthier too !!

2) Reduce or Cancel your Streaming Subscriptions (or any box subscriptions you have); Do you have Cable? Get rid of it! If you have on for ALL of these subscriptions (like we do) you could save big bucks. Cable is about 150$ monthly through Rogers or Bell and Netflix is 20$ plus Disney plus at 15$ and Amazon prime 15$ - Those are the ones we have at home & by cancelling those we saved 200$ a month! (2400$/year)

3) STOP GETTING COFFEE; Okay, I don’t drink Coffee but I know just about everyone else DOES! So, if you spend 2-6$ a day on coffee (you probably spend more) that’s 730$-2190$ a year! On something you can totally make at home much much cheaper!

4) Reduce your cell phone plan! Many of us have the unlimited internet, the call waiting, the roaming, the unlimited long distance, the voicemails… take a look at your plan, your usage & decide what it is you really use and really need- you’re probably paying for things you rarely if ever use!

5) Call your car insurance company! If you’ve had the same company for years then you’re probably paying the initial premium they quoted you. Give them a call and tell them you would like it lowered and see what they can do. If they can’t do anything - shop around! I bet there is a company willing to give you a better rate! More so, you can reduce from Comprehensive to liability insurance & your payment will get cut almost in HALF !

These are all ways that I found it easier to save money without thinking about it! Try them out, let me know which ones worked for you& which things you just couldn’t live without lol I’d love the feedback!
