Selling your home during COVID-19

Updated: Feb 14, 2021

During this tough time of Social Distancing, Economical insecurity & Market fluctuations people are continuously asking - Should I sell my home, or should I wait? If I do sell my home - How do I go about it?

Well, unfortunately there is no definitive answer for wether or not you should sell your home- it is simply a matter of personal circumstance. Have you secured another property? Do you need or want to move? However there is no reason to think its a bad choice financially because the market hasn't dropped to affect home selling prices in fact quite the opposite has happened. There has never been a more lucrative time to sell in the GTA then RIGHT NOW!

There are however, things to consider when selling your home.

If you are living in the home - you will want to think about doing the following:

1. Have professional photos and a virtual tour of your home done, so that potential buyers can accurately see if they like your home before coming to see it so only serious and interested buyers are viewing it in person.

2. Keep it clean and tidy and try to allow showings, most buyers wont be willing to view the home if people are home so ask them to wear gloves & a mask (your agent should provide these) and take a walk or drive to still allow showings. Keeping the home clean also promotes the idea of sanitary spaces which is what people want to see right now.

3. Price it right ! if you aren't sure about the list price then give me a call, I can help you decide on a price for your home easily and with zero contact.

4. Make sure your agent is actively marketing the home even during these crazy times because its a good time where people are still actively looking. A perfect way to do this is with a Virtual Tour, not a video or photos but a tour where someone can walk through from their computer. Check out my listings for a prime example.

5. Make sure that the home is available for a quick close as most people are looking for a 30-60 day close right now.

I offer no obligation home evaluations at no cost.
