Top 5 Places to Check out in Hamilton Area

With so many new families moving into the Hamilton area from other cities, I thought I would compile a list of top places that I think everyone should check out!

  1. All the Waterfalls

This is a really great way to explore your new city, experience the beautiful trails within the city & is perfect during the restrictive COVID-19 lockdowns & rules. Nature never 'locks down' lol. My favourite ones are Webster's Falls, Tiffany Falls, and the Devil's Punch Bowl!

They all have great walking trails to experience while getting to the actual waterfalls. After these, take a look at one of the other over 100 Waterfalls in Hamilton area! We are known for all the beautiful falls & hiking trails ! Let me know which ones you've checked out & which ones you liked best!

2. King William St

King William St is located downtown just adjacent to Jackson Square Mall. King William is a great place to sit on a patio, grab a drink or check out some really great foods. Over the last few years lots of little restaurants have popped up in the Downtown Core and King William is the street of restaurants everyone seems to love! My top choices here are The French (slightly upscale and super chic inside) & Berkley North; they have an amazing avocado toast! If you have any suggestions on menu options at any of these places I would love to hear them!

3. Hamilton Farmer's Market

The Hamilton Farmer's Market is an absolute (not so hidden) gem in Hamilton. It is a staple in the Hamiltonian community and many local vendors & farmers sell food or products here. You can get aged cheeses, Fresh meat, Fresh Eggs and Flowers. Going to the Farmer's market is a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The market is located DownTown Hamilton! Pro Tip - The parking across the street is free for Farmer's Market Customers, you just need to get your ticket stamped at the Market :)

4. Locke St Shops

Locke Street is a street in the West End / Central Hamilton filled with tons of chic restaurants, ma & pop stores, local artists etc. It is a wonderful way to spend a sunny day walking the street & checking out the shops ! There are so many lovely shops on this street to check out, one I suggest is 'Nest' it is a cute little Home & Knick Knacks store!. You won't be disappointed ! Great way to #supportlocal

5. Art Crawl!

Temporarily on hold because of COVID-19, Art crawl is an amazing curation of local artists, vendors and buskers that gather on James St N. The city closes the street to vehicle traffic and people walk through the street able to celebrate, purchase from and view vendors of all kinds. It started with Local artists & grew to include local vendors and performers. My daughter loves Art Crawl and it is held on the 2nd Friday of every month :) Even better, every September is Super Crawl which is Art Crawl on a larger scale. The city hires performers, Food trucks show up, and tons of exciting things happen on James St N with it blocked off for an entire weekend! You do NOT want to miss Super Crawl!

Check these out, comment how it was & what you tried.
